What is eTA Canada
Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) system was introduced in 2016 by the government of Canada with the aim to pre-screen visitors entering the country by air. eTA eliminates the obligation to obtain a regular visa at the Canadian Embassy by travelers coming to Canada for business, tourism, or transit reasons.
eTA Canada is digitally linked to the traveler’s passport. Its holder is allowed to visit and come back to Canada numerous times throughout 5 years of the period for which eTA remains valid. Every trip to Canada with an official eTA can be up to 6 months.
eTA Canada application is cheaper and easier than arranging a traditional visa. The process is to be completed entirely online and requires only filling out the online eTA form and covering the fee of 49 Euro.
All Canadian eTA applications are processed maximally within 72 buisness hours. Very often, it happens that eTA is approved within a few hours or even minutes!
To obtain eTA Canada for your dream trip, you need to fill out the eTA application form. To apply for an eTA, you will also need to have at hand an Internet-accessed working device, a valid means of online payment, and an active email address. As the application process is to be completed entirely online, you need to ensure that your Internet connection is stable. Application for eTA also requires paying the processing fee. That is why you will need to cover the fee using one of the preferred online means of payment. Lastly, you must be an active user of an email address to receive and download your approved Canada eTA.
Whether you are traveling as a tourist or businessman or just want to make a transit stop before reaching your final destination, you must only be a holder of a valid passport. Moreover, your passport cannot expire within at least 6 months from the planned arrival date in Canada.
Your passport and valid eTa need to be shown upon crossing the border. Printing out the electronic travel authorization is unnecessary as an eTA Canada visa is automatically linked to your passport. Make sure that you will be able to display its digital copy on your electronic device when asked during the airport control.
eTA for Canada operates as a multiple-entry online travel authorization and requires a fee of 49 Euro. The price is the same, no matter the nationality of the eligible applicant. To cover the processing fee, an applicant needs to choose one preferred means of online payment. Debit, credit card, PayPal, and many other online payment methods are available in the Canada eTA online form.
All applicants should check whether the confirmation number was delivered to their email address after registering the payment for eTA. This number is necessary to follow the progress of your Canadian eTA application. Use it to check its status and contact our support team.
